Dina Ntziora, a Cultural Manager and Community Engagement Producer, pioneered the inaugural Refugee Week in Greece in 2022 and is the Producer of the Festival. She is dedicated to enhancing the appeal, inclusivity, fairness, and sociability of various spaces. Her primary emphasis lies in developing public areas and fostering community bonds that contribute to the health, joy, and overall well-being of individuals. Dina achieves this by investing in the local community’s strengths, inspiration, and untapped potential. As the Founder of “We are Community”, the organisation behind Refugee Week Greece, Dina leads a team committed to fostering initiatives that not only create memorable and enjoyable experiences but also facilitate highly participatory endeavors. The organisation’s mission is grounded in the active promotion of equity and inclusivity, with a strong focus on bridging gaps and uniting individuals in sociable and meaningful ways. With a wealth of experience and a passion for community-driven positive change, Dina Ntziora is a catalyst for vibrant, culturally rich environments that benefit individuals and communities alike.
Ilirida Musaraj is the Refugee Week Producer, Counterpoints Arts and a Coordinator of the Youth Board. She has studied Political Sciences in the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and currently she is a PhD candidate in Sociology, with a special interest in the Sociology of Migration (NKUA), studying in her thesis the identity formation in the 2nd generation of migrants of Albanian origin in Greece. She has been active for many years now in social movements for the rights of refugees and migrants, being influenced by her own migratory background as a “2nd generatio” migrant. She recently started exploring ways in which art, academic work and social movements can converse so as to provide visibility and advocacy to marginalized communities, a task which she hopes to help achieve in this year’s Festival.
Aggeliki is the Refugee Week Youth Board Advisor. She is a dynamic and results-oriented communication and management professional with a rich background in program management. Her unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes is evident through her extensive experience in providing professional support to children, young people, and communities in need. With a master’s degree in Health Informatics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA) in collaboration with the University of Piraeus, she brings a unique blend of technical expertise and a passion for welfare-focused management. Currently pursuing undergraduate studies in Psychology at the European University of Cyprus, Aggeliki’s dedication to understanding human behavior complements her hands-on experience in the humanitarian field. Over the past seven years, she has been at the forefront of promoting human rights, particularly emphasizing Children’s Rights as outlined in the International Convention on the Rights of the Child. Aggeliki’s proactive approach and genuine empathy make her a valuable asset in any endeavor aimed at making a positive impact on society.
Precious Obediah, Digital Marketing Manager, is in charge of the Refugee Week Greece website’s updates. As the Co-founder of Afrosocially, the first African community engagement platform in Greece, Precious draws upon her understanding and appreciation of diverse communities. Her personal experiences have equipped her with insights into the challenges faced by individuals navigating through unique circumstances, while also recognizing the potential opportunities within these vibrant groups. Precious brings a wealth of expertise in digital marketing with a foundation in Software Engineering from the Technological Educational Institute of Athens. This technical proficiency is complemented by strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. In addition to her current endeavors, Precious’s prior experience as a Production Assistant at Project EqualGen reflects her commitment to social initiatives. There, she actively contributed to the implementation of projects aimed at promoting gender equality through contemporary art and interactive workshops. With her diverse background and dedication to community engagement, Precious Obediah brings a unique blend of technical skills and social awareness.
Youth Board
The Youth Board of Refugee Week Greece 2024 is a dynamic and passionate group of young individuals under 25, united by their lived experiences of displacement or a fervent commitment to socially engaged arts. They serve as the driving force, injecting energy and enthusiasm into every facet of Refugee Week Greece, ensuring its programs resonate with the evolving needs of youth affected by displacement.
As advocates for the youth community, the Youth Board actively champions the perspectives, concerns, and aspirations of their peers. Through their engagement, they inspire change and serve as role models, showcasing the profound impact young individuals can have on shaping a more inclusive and empathetic society.
Members of the Youth Board play a central role in shaping the content and structure of Refugee Week events. Their ideation and innovation contribute fresh and forward-thinking ideas that reflect the evolving needs and preferences of young refugees. Moreover, they actively engage with the broader community, serving as ambassadors and fostering connections with schools, organizations, and individuals interested in supporting the cause.
