Baytna Hub June Community Day
Community and Healing
During our Community Day events, we invite members of the Kypseli neighbourhood to join us in art activities designed for school aged children. One of Baytna Hub’s values is connection through community and art. In the past, we have held 3 such days, opening our doors at our kindergarten space in the Kypseli Municipal Market. This month, we will hold our event outside in the common area of the market, off the entrance of Fokionos Negri.
In celebration of Refugee Week Greece, Baytna Hub will include the theme of healing to our Community Day. Healing comes in many different forms, and at Baytna we strive to foster an environment where healing can happen through art and connection between parents and their children. The activities listed below are aimed to promote creativity, connection, hope and happy memories for everyone who wants to join.

Activities for the day:
Wishing Tree
Using twine and paper, participants will write their wishes and decorate them. They have the option of having them kept secret if they wish. We will attach the wishes to one of the trees outside Kypseli Market, on the pedestrian street, Fokionos Negri.
Superhero Masks + Photobooth
Families will be invited to create masks out of paper materials, paints and other craft materials. We will have a background where they can pose together and receive an instant picture as a memory.
Friends of the Neighbourhood Mural
Using a large roll of craft paper, children and parents will outline each other’s bodies and paint and colour themselves and each other using paints. This mural will be displayed for the neighbourhood after the event
